Dear No One,
I visited the Tate Modern with one of my best girlfriends Esther just over 2 Fridays ago and I must confess she opened both my outer and minds inner eye to the beauty of Art and the creative world.
I've never really liked Art as a child because let's be honest, I suck at it and would not be able to draw or do anything artistic to save my life! So I've always disliked it becausenI wasn't great at it, however if there's something I love doing which I haven't told much people about it, is analysing different pieces of Art.
I just love interpreting things; going beyond the surface, finding hidden meanings or messages and trying to understand what the painter or artist was thinking about whilst creating such a master piece.
My love for interpreting derives from my open love for poetry. Whilst at school, I dealt with a number of poets and their charming style of poetry which of course was the main reason I chose to study English Literature at A-Levels, not only because of the endless fun I had but the knowledge I gained at GCSE level.
Poetry and Art to me are intertwined on so many different levels-far too many to be able to list but a common one is the persona-artist and poets tend to create that seem to bounce off quite an awful lot upon their consumers.
I had SOOOOO much fun! Can't wait to go back sometime soon and also to Somerset House! It was too cute, loved every room and every second I spent there.
It was indeed a much needed sweet escape :)
Enjoy some of the pictures I took and I'll see you soon!
Yours truly x x
